In an hour or less I’ll be off to Reno to have the 330i serviced. It’s got about 86K on the clock and the next service (inspection) is due. The count-down timer announced that about a week ago and we have a trip to PRK coming the end of next week.
So, I’m off to Reno to have the BMW dealer service the vehicle. I think I’ll be first in the door, so that means there’s a fair chance they’ll give me a loaner because this service takes at least a couple of hours. So, I’ll take the offer and probably drive over to Cabela’s to see what’s new there. I want to stop by Sportsman’s Warehouse as well. I meant to pick up some 147-grain 9mm the last time I was there, but didn’t. If they still have some of that ammunition on the shelf, I’ll pick up a couple of boxes. I want to shoot some of the heavy slugs from my Glock to see where they print.
At Cabela’s I want to look at reloading equipment. With the garage project nearing completion, I’m thinking it’s time to get serious about reloading my cartridges (rolling my own, so to speak). I’ve been collecting brass (some might say I have a lot of brass! :) and components are more available than they were.
Along those lines I’m going to find a lead pot and start collection wheel weights. I’m going to cast my own bullets too. I think I can get six-hole molds for a reasonable price. It doesn’t take long to cast up a bunch of bullets with six-hole molds.
Now I’m off to the shower. It’s time to get moving…
Later: It’s about 1900 now. The trip to the dealwer was expensive. They do a lot of checks in addition to changing fluids in the vehicle. Urgh…
I snagged 150 rounds of 147-grain 9mm ammunition. The wind came up, so today was not the day to shoot. The forecast is for rain tomorrow. Double urgh…
Now I don’t know what’s next. I suppose I should regroup after a day that did not go as planned.
