BMW WreckHere’s an image of the damage close up. The bumper frame is pushed nearly into the right rear tire. In fact, the right rear tire must have been damaged because it was losing air pressure. It’s just bad.

I’m pretty bummed about the car. I expected this vehicle to last us several more years. Given the amount of damage it’s taken, I’m not sure it will ever be right, even if repaired. I guess things will shake out over the next few days.

Wife and I rented a VW Jetta from Enterprise to use while the BMW is out of commission. The Jetta is a decent automobile, but it’s nothing like my Bimmer. It has only 15K on the clock, but the check-engine light is illuminated and the check-brakes light illuminates every now and again. That’s not encouraging for an automobile that is a 2006 year model.

I feel a lot better today. My neck is still a little stiff, but it’s much, much better. I think I’m about back to 100 percent. That’s really good because I have a ton of work to get done and losing a couple-three days was not good.

My professional engineering license for Texas arrived in the mail Friday afternoon. That’s good and something I should have done long ago. My only excuse is that I hate filling out forms.

Tomorrow will be another busy day and I suspect I’ll be dealing with insurance companies at least part of the day.
