Blogging
Wow! A lot has transpired since yesterday afternoon. I forwarded the email from the dean’s office to Wife and she agreed with me that my personal webspace should be moved from shelob to another host.
So, what did I do? Well, roughly, these are the steps:
Most of these things I have never done. I guess that makes me an expert now as I was able to pull it all off without any (apparent) hitches. I did have some help because other users left a trail of bread crumbs on the various bulletin boards (now called fora or forums) and I was able to benefit from the collective experience.
All of the weblog images from 2001, 2002, and 2005 have been moved to their respective places and should display properly on Random Ruminations. Image pointers from 2003 and 2004 have not yet been edited. This is a big job because I had a lot of images in ‘03 and ‘04. I have not worked out any way of automating this process, so it is laborious. Maybe I should just bag it and delete all references to images in those two years.
I still have to deal with my gallery. Maybe I should just take it down as well. If the whimsy strikes me again, I will do the work necessary to re-establish some of those galleries.
