Textdrive is now offering a second round of hosting for life. I missed out on the first round. I am sorely tempted to jump for this offer.

I expect to have some kind of web presence for the rest of my life. I have been writing this weblog for over three years now. My professional site has been in existence since somewhere back in the mid-1990’s. (I lost track of when I first put it up, but I know that the current incarnation is about six-years old.)

It is a lot of money to pony up at US$400. But still, if I were to move from my current host (which is free), I could expect to pay at least $25/month for hosting. That’s a 16-month break-even point. It has really got me to thinking.

But, the timing is terrible with the recent car purchase. I need to generate some extra income, fast.
